silence? I haven't had children, but I've been around a lot of them. Silence is not something that occours naturally in children. good luck, katie.

I think he might not be so completly out of his mind...there might be some truth in his words. I don't know if the baby hears much while in it's mother's woumb. But if he doesn't, i believe that coming to the exterior is a violent experience. If so is true, then the silence would be in favour to reduce tension between new born and the world.
